WHAT IS THERAPEUTIC MASSAGE
Massage is a term describing a variety of techniques using the hands to stimulate and soothe the soft tissues of the body. It works by kneading and manipulating muscles to relax them and uses friction at times to stimulate the soft tissues. This can increase blood and lymph circulation while breaking up scar tissue between muscle fibers.
WHAT DOES THERAPEUTIC MASSAGE FEEL LIKE
It usually feels good but can get intense at times, just communicate with your therapist if you feel too much discomfort at any point. Clothing is typically removed from the areas to be treated while keeping your underwear on. A lubricating cream or oil is often applied throughout the massage to decrease friction on the skin.
